Our comfortable solar-powered home is set in 5 acres, just 2 Km off the main highway south of Townsville. Beautiful Alligator Creek meanders through the property which we share with a wide variety of birds and wildlife. Wallabies and possums are regular visitors while resident birds include a pair of Bush Stone Curlews who often have an egg or youngster in their care. The gorgeous Sunbirds occasionally make nests around the house and a large population of frogs and lizards is testament to the care we give to our stunning environment.
Guest accommodation consists of 2 bedrooms and a spacious, recently-renovated bathroom (bathrobes are provided). One room has a queen bed and the other has a convertible king/twin bed. Two indoor sitting areas are available to guests and there are ample places around the house and property for you to sit and enjoy the surroundings. Our pool is available for those who want some exercise or a leisurely splash, and because it has a shade-sail in summer and solar blanket in winter it is generally usable year-round.
To enhance your peaceful experience and to encourage guests to get to know each other we do not have televisions in the rooms but TV and DVDs plus a variety of games and books are available for guest use.
Guests are welcome to roam around our gardens and orchards or walk quietly through the wildlife areas. The wellbeing of our wildlife and reduced use of chemicals is our priority so you won't find any pristine lawns and super-neat flower beds, but you will enjoy the variety of (sometimes rare) plants that we grow. Most of the property is flat and easily accessible but the wildlife habitat near the creek is sloping and left unmowed so appropriate footwear is necessary.
