Old Tailem Town Pioneer Village is one of Australia's largest pioneer villages. You can make your way through 14 streets full of memories with more than 114 buildings including 27 shops. Old Tailem Town buildings include the corner store, hospital, dentist, newsagent, pub, post office and police station. The town is devided into two suburbs- English and German and also has an Industrial area. Railway history has also been retained with the advent of a station and 19 carriages. They all depict the past as it was without cluttered displays. Old Tailem Town is a hands on experience and you can walk through most rooms with a very realistic atmosphere. The live displays at the Engine House and the Talking Machine Parlour are extremely interesting.
